Vagina & Sex

Can your vagina become worn out by having sex?

Vagina & Sex

Hi Ladies!

Since there are a lot of women (and men) who think a woman's vagina can become worn out by having (too much) sex, we thought it would be necessary to discuss this topic, to make sure more and more women (and men) are well educated on this topic..

The vagina is a muscle

Like your heart or your tongue, your vagina is a muscle. So, it's not a piece of skin that get stretched out like your belly when you're having a bigger size for a large amount of time.

You can compare the vagina with a balloon. A balloon is elastic and is small when not inflated (in rest), but when you inflate a balloon it stretches out and can become bigger. However, when you let the air out of the balloon, the balloon shrinks again to its original size and shape, without being stretched out. This is exactly what happens to the vagina for example after sex or after giving birth.

But how can a baby pass this narrow canal?!

Like with sex, when the vagina creates space for the penis when you're aroused, the vagina creates just enough space for a baby to pass. And even after giving birth to a baby - which is obviously much bigger than a penis - the vagina will get back to its original state. This may take a few weeks, but in the end it will be most likely to be completely the same as before. However, you may think it isn't, because the feeling is different when having sex.

The feeling could be different

Like discussed in the above part, the feeling of sex could be different after having a baby, or after sex with a bigger shaped man :-) . But, are you ladies able to compare all times you had sex? Does it feel the same every time you're with the same man? The feeling depends on all kinds of things, like your state of arousal, your partner's state of arousal, stress, location, position etc.

This brings us to the fairytale of men being able to feel if a woman or girl ever had sex or even if she's had a lot of different partners… With the information of the above part, it's easy to conclude that this is an absolute fairytale! So girls, please don't be afraid of this. This could only be wild guesses or he must have had a different source…

Menopause

The elasticity and the natural moist of the vagina can decrease, when you're in menopause. This is due to hormonal changes in your body. This can give you the feeling your vagina is worn out, but if the vagina is stretched, it's most likely not very much. You can even postpone the menopause by having sex on a regular basis! :-) A good reason…
